About J Highland Made

Josh Highland
J Highland Made started the same way a lot of droid projects do: with a 3D printer, too many unfinished ideas, and a stubborn refusal to accept “good enough.”
I’m a lifelong maker, electronics designer, and droid builder. Over the years I’ve built full-scale droids including K-2SO, a B1 Battle Droid, and a Pit Droid. Along the way I kept running into the same problem: the parts I needed either didn’t exist, didn’t fit, or weren’t designed by someone who had actually built the droid.
So I started making my own.
What began as solutions for my personal builds eventually turned into products for other builders. Every controller, vocalizer, lighting kit, guide, and resource I offer has been designed, installed, tested, and refined on real droids before it ever reaches another builder’s workbench.
I’m not a large company. There isn’t a warehouse full of employees packing boxes. It’s just me designing electronics, writing installation guides, testing prototypes, answering questions, and occasionally wondering why I decided to fit one more circuit board into a space that was clearly never meant to hold it.
My goal is simple: help other builders spend less time fighting electronics and more time bringing their droids to life.
Whether you’re building your first Pit Droid, wiring up a B1 Battle Droid, or trying to give your K-2SO a little more personality, I hope something here makes your build easier.u need a vocalizer that actually fits inside a B1 head, an eye controller with smooth animations, or a paint guide to get that screen-accurate weathering — I build the tools I wish existed when I started.
