What material should I print a B1 Battle Droid in?
PETG is the recommended material for a life-size B1. The droid's thin limbs and joints need the extra strength that PETG provides over PLA, which can be too brittle for the long, thin parts. You can of course use ASA, ABS or other strong materials. Its possible to use PLA, but the challange of warping in hot environments and being brittle when finishing
How much filament does a full-size B1 take?
A complete life-size B1 Battle Droid typically requires between 15-18 spools of filament depending on your infill settings, wall count, and how many reprints you need along the way.
What color paint should I use?
Montana Gold Sahara Beige is one of the best the body colors avliable. If you are building a commander droid, Montana Gold Shock Yellow is a perfect match.
What do I used to attach the rib phones?
I used a set of adjustable elastic cords from amazon. They allowed me to tighten and loosen the B1's rib phones for positioning and transport
What size print bed do I need for a B1 Battle Droid?
Most B1 files are sliced to fit a 256mm x 256mm bed, though a larger bed like a 300mm x 300mm will give you more flexibility with part orientation and reduce the number of seams.
